Job Summary  

The Human Resources Generalist will support a superior human resources experience for all Keating & Associates employees from the first candidate contact to ongoing engagement through the full employee life cycle. You will oversee recruiting, employee onboarding and offboarding processes, as well as collaborate on administration of all employee benefits and implementation of culture-aligned engagement initiatives throughout Keating. You will collaborate with supervisors on employee related concerns while maintaining impartiality as an HR representative.  

This is a non-exempt position that is hybrid eligible from our Manhattan, KS office.  The salary range for this position is a range from $51,000 to $57,000 per year. The HR Generalist will report to the Chief Operating Officer. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

1. Administering short-term disability, FMLA, worker's compensation, unemployment, COBRA, ADA accommodation, and other benefits as needed.  

2. Recruiting administration including posting positions, filtering applications, pre-screening candidates, scheduling hiring manager interviews, and sending offer letters.  

3. Coordinating employee onboarding and offboarding processes and execution, including completing the HR related tasks associated with each and ensuring full scope of tasks are completed by the team.  

4. Acquiring and evaluating background checks and employee eligibility verifications,  I-9s, and eVerify documents for all non-1099 employees.  

5. Maintaining confidentiality of private employee information, referring complex and/or sensitive information to the COO.  

6. Ensuring accurate documentation of disciplinary actions and employee engagement activities.  

7. Attending and participating in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed.  

8. Performing compensation research and making recommendations to COO and/or supervisor.  

9. Keeping Employee Handbook up to date and monitoring that employee acknowledgement signatures are up to date.  

10. Managing employee data and documentation and using the HRIS systems to the company's recordkeeping and management advantage.  

11. Working closely with management and employees to improve work relationships and positively influence morale, productivity and retention.  

12. Implementing employee recognition programs alongside supervisors and proposing new ideas to leadership for consideration based on current HR research 

13. Being a resource to supervisors through education on HR compliance and direct report meetings.  

14. Working closely with broker consultants and operations on annual renewals and cost analysis of company benefits.  

15. Administering and periodically creating satisfaction surveys, onboarding surveys, exit interviews, and all other feedback communication as needed. 

16. Other duties as assigned. 

Desired skills and qualifications include, and are not limited to:  

  • Required - Bachelor’s degree  

  • Preferred - HR Certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR. 

  • Intermediate knowledge of various employment laws and practices.  

  • Detail-oriented with follow through on tasks and processes  

  • Successful interviewing skills  

  • Able to exercise independent judgment and ethics, confidentiality, and conflict mediation  

  • Deliver clear, effective communication across all mediums  

  • Personable, service-oriented, and collaborative  
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment. 

  • Proactive and adept at connecting with colleagues in a remote environment.  

  • Critical thinking and big picture approach in an entrepreneurial environment.
