Financial Planner
Job Summary
We seek a financial planner to execute the financial planning process for multiple financial advisor teams and client bases in our Manhattan, KS office. The financial planner assists the team by preparing timely, complete, and thoughtful financial plans through working with clients to gather necessary financial data and documents to build the plan and then adeptly navigating the financial planning program to produce an intelligent plan. This position requires knowledge of financial planning concepts and the ability to translate that knowledge into scenario building that goes beyond data entry. The ability to anticipate impacts of financial changes to plan scenarios and to thoughtfully test plans and bring insights to financial advisors during meeting preparation is essential. This is a non-sales opportunity to positively impact clients through a critical piece of their financial lives.
This position is non-exempt and reports to the Branch Manager.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Collaborate closely with the Financial Advisors to create, analyze, and present plans for all clients.
2. Collect client financial data and create the financial plan in software such as eMoney or Right Capital.
3. Work with clients to set up client access into their financial planning software accounts.
4. Review and verify financial plans on a monthly basis, identifying risks, opportunities, and recommendations.
5. Research and prepare financial planning and estate planning solutions for clients.
6. Work with clients to implement the planning recommendations and solutions that were presented in client meeting.
7. Oversee and keep current the financial planning client experience process that is used throughout the team.
8. Record and archive the financial plan, related documents, and meeting notes in CRM.
9. Attend client meetings to take meeting notes and run the financial plan presentation for the advisor as requested.
10. Identify opportunities for extending services to current clients.
11. Ensure team completion of agreed upon services in financial planning contracts with clients.
12. As an extension of the advisor and member of the service team, build positive relationships with clients in every interaction.
13. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Planning, or related field.
Previous experience successfully building financial plans, preferably in eMoney or Right Capital
CFP® obtained or able to obtain within 18 months
Series 65 or ability to obtain within 3 months
Desired skills include, but are not limited to:
3+ years related experience in the financial industry
Strong financial planning background
Great with client-facing, relational skills, with the skill of a teacher to clients
Familiar with investment philosophies and able to incorporate this into planning recommendations
Lifelong, curious learner
High capacity, self-managed, proactive approach to work
