Financial Advisor 

Job Summary  

The “Keating Central” Financial Advisor provides financial advising to clients serviced within our KA Central model. You will gain hands-on knowledge and exposure to a variety of areas, including investment management, data and reporting in respective software, analysis, and client communication. You will build relationships with these clients and be their primary point of contact for all financial services they seek within Keating.  

This position is non-exempt and reports to the Branch Manager. We are open to this position being located remotely or being in one of our office locations in Kansas: Manhattan, Wichita, Lawrence, or Overland Park. Salary range is $50,000-65,000 annually based on experience and credentials. 

Responsibilities include, and are not limited to: 

  1. Meet with a provided list of clients at least once annually to review their current financial situation and investment accounts serviced through Keating.  

  1. Reviewing investment performance and identifying recommendations to clients within the KA Central book of business. 

  1. Keeping compliant meeting notes and casework notes in the firm’s CRM systems.  

  1. Preparing, presenting, and executing financial planning recommendations with clients utilizing company provided financial planning tools when financial planning is a requested service. 

  1. Follow through on actionable items for all clients following review meetings, phone calls, and emails from clients.  

  1. Client meeting scheduling, preparation, and communication. 

  1. Maintain organized files of documents related to clients. 

  1. Maintaining professional and industry continuing education. 

  1. Other duties as assigned 

Desired skills include, but are not limited to:  

  • Required: Series 65 or ability to obtain within 90 days 

  • Required: Life, Health, and Variable Insurance license or ability to obtain within 90 days 

  • Ability to initiate conversations and build rapport with clients 

  • Familiar with asset classes, products, and portfolio management 

  • Strong communication skills: written, interpersonal, and virtual  

  • Comfortable with remote and in person client interaction  

  • Knowledge of financial planning software and how to build a financial plan  

  • Strong analytical and research skills 

  • Excellent organizational skills  

  • Excellent follow through and task management skills
