Job Summary
We are seeking a Financial Planner to provide financial planning and investment advisory support to clients within growing advisory practices. The Planner is the go-to source for clients seeking answers to day-to-day financial questions as well as in-depth planning analysis. They will build trusted relationships with clients as their dedicated point of contact. This is a non-sales financial advisor opportunity to serve clients while freeing up time for the team’s wealth managers to bring in new clients and nurture top client relationships. The successful candidate will thrive in a role that needs their leadership, organizational skills, and a high degree of follow-through, to keep all client needs prioritized and responded to in a timely manner. The Financial Planner will enjoy research and data analysis while also enjoying building positive relationships with their interpersonal skills. In addition, this person will be expected to gain a thorough knowledge of all aspects of the practice and have a natural drive to take initiative. These skills will enable the Financial Planner to seamlessly step in to serve clients, effectively delegate workflow to the team, and shift priorities and workload as needed.
This position is non-exempt, located in the Manhattan, KS branch office, and reports to the Director of Financial Planning.
Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
- Facilitate client service as needed to ensure that all clients receive prompt and professional attention to requests and implementation of investment and planning recommendations.
- Build trusted relationships with current clients where they feel known, valued, and well taken care of.
- Ensure that the team executes a compliant wealth management process, meeting deadlines for review meetings, transactions, and documentation requirements. Collaborate with the Account Administrator to execute any account-related client needs.
- Attend client meetings and assist the lead advisor with taking client meeting notes and filing them according to regulatory requirements.
- Create pre-meeting agendas based on client-requested topics and annual review items.
- Complete post-meeting casework and delegate workflow to the team, keeping tasks organized, prioritized, and updated.
- Assist in creating & updating financial plans and scenarios through gathering and analyzing client data and proposing solutions alongside lead financial advisors.
- Financial planning-related research for client questions and planning.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Active Series 65
- CFP® preferred or in the process of studying for the exam.
- At least 2 years of client-facing financial advising experience preferred.
- Experience with financial planning software.
- Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Proactive and responsive
- Experienced with remote client interaction.
- Maturity and integrity to be a self-starter.
- Thrives with a high degree of responsibility and is able to discern and direct the next steps.
